专利摘要:
Process for the formation of a tucked selvedge in a terry cloth piece, as obtained with the procedure using an articulated reed having two beating-up positions, using a selvedge-forming device which comprises a movable grasping and severing member as well as a second movable member in the form of a takeup hook or the like, characterized by the additional step of keeping said movable members through the entire time during which the weft threads inserted in the shed and beaten up by the reed up to the blind beat position are, in their turn, beaten by the comb against the fell of the fabric being woven. The selvedge-forming device for carrying out the process is then equipped with a weft-slackening humpy blade while its spring biased cam-controlled levers intended to drive said movable members are fitted, at their ends pivoted to the same shaft, with projections or teeth which are adapted to coact with corresponding stop abutments mounted on an arbor which is spring-biased and can be shifted by an electromagnet until bumping into said teeth. A preferred embodiment of a movable grasping and severing member is also described in detail.

The invention relates to the development of terry fabrics on shuttleless looms and is intended for use in the production of fixed-edge fabrics.
The purpose of the invention is to increase the edge strength and reliability of the device.
Figure 1 shows the edge-forming device, top view j in figure 2 - section A-A in figure 1; - on fig.Z - section BB in figure 1; Fig. 4 shows a movable gripping-cutting element at the moment of lower fixation of the weft yarn; on fig.Z - section bb In figure 1; figure 6 - section GG in figure 1.
The device contains the main yarns 1 and 2, which form the main shed 3. The weft yarns 4,4, 4, and 4 come from a UTOCHNB1X reel (not shown) and are laid with a weft yarn plotter 5 after cutting the weft yarn 4 from the edge 6 with a scissors-8 .
The location of the bird in the position of the preliminary gear is indicated by the position 9, and in the position of the final gear - the position 10.
On the terry cloth 7, the inlay is obtained using a edge-forming device 11 having a body 12. Installed on the frame 13 of the stack, on which there is a plate 14 and a vertical curved knife 15, which is used as an element loosening the tension of the weft yarn as a result of its follow- ing along the wavy edge of the knife 15.
The device contains a gripping-cutting element 16 and a hook-like element 17, both elements perform rotational movements, which are transmitted by separate jaws mounted on the shaft 18, and operate under the action of spring-loaded levers fitted on the shaft 19.
The cam 20, (FIG. 6) is mounted on the key on the shaft 18 and its internal groove 21 interacts with the following element 22, which is rotatably mounted at the midpoint of the lever 23 whose upper end rests on the shaft 19 and the other lower end 24 is connected to the lever 25, which, turning at point 26 on the fixed part of the housing 12, is turned opposite
